CloudTest Fall “13 Lineup

Written by Connie Quach

Today we announced our latest release of our industry leading load and performance testing solution, SOASTA CloudTest.  This latest release expands app  support for Java applications, and delivers direct to database testing.  We’ve also folded in performance and speed enhancing updates as we continually seek out areas to compress activities and optimize compute efficiencies in our platform

As you prepare for the holiday season, we are excited and on-deck to help get your application ready to go. In this latest product release, you now have the ability to performance test directly to the database and test custom java modules.  We also improved on speed and performance in all areas of the interface, from CloudTest Central through to dashboards. Other things to look for are time saving tips like using the Recording to Clip Editor, without the need to convert the clip after recording. Finally, if you are heading to any of the upcoming industry shows, come join us, say hi and see the product in action.

Here are some of the key capabilities of the new release:

– Direct-to-Database Testing, which allows you to connect directly to SQL databases – Oracle, Microsoft SQLServer, and PostgreSQL – and execute SQL statements against them for functional or performance load testing. If you need to execute SQL workloads for performance testing, this feature will get you get up and running quickly. Simply insert data into a database before a test, or clean up test data after a test.

Define the Database Target

– Custom Java modules open up a world of possibilities for testing. You can connect to unsupported databases, test protocols beyond the scope of web apps and mobile (like websockets and UDP), plus test streaming video or encrypt or decrypt requests/responses with customer libraries. Anything you can do in Java can now be included in CloudTest to test to scale and to add limitless customization and logic to your tests.
