Results Viewer

SOASTA CloudTest provides rich visual tools to analyze results at the Test Composition level, as well as at the message level.
SOASTA CloudTest posts the status of a playing or recently played Test Composition on the Repository > Player Status page as it happens, as well as archiving results on the Repository > Recently Played page.
In the SOASTA Central > Repository, click Recently Played to view the Recently Played results. When you do so, the Recently Played list appears.

A summary of results for any played Test Composition can also be viewed in the Repository > Test Compositions list by clicking its arrow. Each time the test composition is played a new results item is created in the Recently Played list.
After your test finishes playing within the Test Composition Editor, click the Open Results button to go directly to the result for that composition.

The Results Viewer opens with the Analytics Dashboard displayed. The Results Viewer also contains tabs for Aggregates, Result Details, and Log. To switch views, click the tabs at the top of the screen.

The Results Viewer is organized to analyze test results by:

Analytics Dashboard

This basic dashboard shows overall statistics about your Test Composition including its success or failure, as well as charted Environment and Response Time information. The Analytics Dashboard displays trends in the form of charts along with Demographic information for the environment of the test.

  • Mouse over any item in the Response Time chart to view its details.
  • To zoom on a region click-and-drag a rectangle. Double-click to unzoom the view

Aggregates

The Aggregates view displays aggregate information such as Duration or Bytes Sent in a grid form. The Aggregates view renders the “Component Hierarchy” for your Test Composition. This is done according to the SOASTA CloudTest Object Model (e.g.. Test Composition > Band 1> Track 1 > Test Clip > Messages). Refer to the SOASTA CloudTest Script Guide for more information about this object model.

Result Details

The Result Details tab uses a Component Flow to display the Test Composition’s message stream. The Result Details tab can be filtered to display Message Components Only or Error Components Only.

For the component currently being displayed, you can view the events for that one component by clicking the Events List button. These are the same events that display when clicking on the Log tab.

  • Click any item to center it and display its details in the panes below.
  • Use the scrollbar to browse the flow.
  • Log

The Log tab presents Component details that can be sorted by Events (Time, Component, Source, and Level) and to display Event Levels by type (All, Errors, Statistics, and Informational).

  • Click the Details arrow to toggle message details on or off.
