Viewing Aggregate Data

The Aggregates View displays various metrics aggregated over all virtual users in a grid form.  This is a good place to compare  the average response times for the various components of your load test in order to find the bottlenecks.   Average response times as well as Max Durations and Bytes Sent and Received can be compared for a particular message or one user scenario in the form of a Test Clip or Chain.

In this view the word “duration” is defined as the response time for a message and for a Band/Track/Test Clip/Chain it is the difference between the first message sent or other action and the last message received (or other action completed) in that component.

To bring up the Aggregates view, use the following steps:

  1. Either
    1. After running a test from the SOASTA CloudTest Composition Editor, press the  Open Results button in the lower-right corner.
    1. In Repository, find an existing result either under Recently Played or by clicking the arrow key next to the Test Composition name.  Then double click the result.
  1. The Results will display with the Analytic Dashboard displaying by default.
  1. Clickthe Aggregates tab and the Aggregates view will display.
  1. Each component of the hierarchy can be expanded or collapsed.
  1. There are three checkboxes at the bottom of the window which govern if Test Clips, Chains or Messages are displayed.  Turning off message display for example, can be useful if there are hundreds of messages and you only want to analyze the data for particular user scenarios as expressed in test clips or chains.
