The Test Result Analytic Dashboard

The Test Result Analytics Dashboard displays trends charts along with demographic information for the environments utilized during the test. These charts are synchronized so that you can see cause and effect for various loads. For example, during a load test, as the number of messages increases the CPU may increase as well as the response time. This might indicate that the system being tested needs a higher-powered machine.

 

To bring up the Test Results Analytic Dashboard, use the following steps:

  1. Either
    1. After running a test from the SOASTA CloudTest Composition Editor, press the  Open Results button in the lower-right corner.

    1. In Repository, find an existing result either under Recently Played or by clicking the arrow key next to the Test Composition name.  Then double click the result.
  1. The Results will display with the Analytic Dashboard displaying by default.
  1. There are three major sections in this Dashboard.

The Status section contains general information about the test including the status; the start and end time of execution; the number of messages and the number of virtual users.

The Environment section displays information about both the Maestro server machines that the test ran on, as well as any monitored machines which are linked to the test.  The type of information displayed depends upon the type of monitored server (eg. Database; ColdFusion; JBoss).

Chart section contains 1 or more charts depending on the Dashboard selected.  By default it displays three charts:  Response Time, CPU Percentage, and Send and Receive Rate per Second.   To see how to switch Dashboards or select an different individual chart, see the topic “Changing Charts and Dashboards”.
