The Monitor Analytic Dashboard

The Monitoring Analytics Dashboard displays real time monitoring information in charts along with demographic information for the monitored environments. These charts are synchronized so that you can see relationships between the various systems.  For example the number of threads may spike during periods when CPU utilization is high.

To bring up the Monitor Analytic Dashboard, use the following steps:

  1. In Repository, select Monitors in the Navigator area.
  2. A list of available monitors will display.  Click the “View Analytics” link for the selected monitor.
  1. The Monitor Dashboard will display.

There are three major sections in this Dashboard.

  • The Status section displays the date and time range for the displayed monitor data.

  • The Environment section contains information about the monitored systems such as processor speed or database version.  The type of information displayed is appropriate for the type of monitoring servers.
  • The Chart section contains one or more charts depending on the type of Dashboard selected.  By default the Monitor Dashboard shows a chart for every system resource being monitored.  To see how to switch Dashboards or select a different chart, see the topic “Changing Charts and Dashboards”.
  • Charts also allow zooming, side by side views, hiding of specific series, and transforming into a PNG image. For each of these see the “Interacting with Charts” topic or a specific topic.
  • The Dashboard will display real time updates.  The refresh rate is continuously adjusted for the optimal efficiency of the Browser System.
  • To Dashboard starts with showing the last 5 minutes but this can be changed to other time ranges or a specific time range can be entered.   To change the time frame, use the drop down selections located in the upper right corner.

Note that when “Specific Time Range” is selected to view historical monitoring data, the chart does not refresh itself.
