MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. —April 14, 2008 —SOASTA, a leading provider of test automation solutions for Web applications and services, today announced it has been named a “Cool Vendor” by leading industry analyst firm, Gartner Group, in its April 2008 report, “Cool Vendors in Application Development (AD) 2008”. The report, issued on April 4, lists SOASTA as one of three companies included that have “cool” approaches to the specification and the quality delivery of complex projects.
SOASTA is focused on testing for Web 2.0 and composite SOA-based applications, providing tools with a unique paradigm that is designed specifically for these new architectures. The report notes that, “Development projects and processes deal with large quantities of information, but they are often poorly specified, measured and controlled. These failures of insight and control are at the root of many development project horror stories.” The report, which was authored by Gartner strategists Jim Duggan, Matt Light, and Thomas E. Murphy, includes the following key findings:
