Mobile March Madness: Website Performance Matters More Than Teams’ Actual Performance

Study shows that 79 percent of Millennials who follow the tournament are particularly worried about performance issues when trying to keep up.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., April 2, 2015 - SOASTA, the leader in performance analytics, today announced the results of its March Madness performance survey, examining viewer habits and frustrations of college basketball fans. Conducted online by Harris Poll, the study surveyed more than 2,000 Americans 18 and older and found that the majority (58 percent) of March Madness viewers said poor mobile or online performance while streaming or following games is worse than seeing their favorite team perform poorly.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Jan. 28, 2015 SOASTA, the leader in performance analytics, today announced the results of its 2015 Super Bowl Second Screen survey, examining online and mobile habits and preferences of Americans watching this year’s Super Bowl. The research revealed that nearly half (46 percent) of smartphone and tablet owners plan on using mobile apps while watching this year’s Super Bowl, an increase from the 41 percent who said they planned to use mobile apps while watching the game in 2014.
